This blog reply is in response to Hannah Rochford’s blog post #4 on interactivity.

My education growing up has also been very student-teacher interaction based as well. I would say that just this year, my courses have been more student-student based, meaning more discussions between students and group discussions which is a great way of engaging everyone. I find this method is also very interactive and engaging rather than just trying to absorb information from the educator. I think that incorporating both a teacher-student and student-student interaction is a good balance. As there are definitely aspects of learning that need to be directed from the educator but if followed by student-student interaction, this could result in such a beneficial educational plan. This way you get to hear from other students how information is retained and processed which can be eyeopening to an individual learning perspective. As someone who hopes to be a teacher once I graduate, it is great to hear that more student-student learning is being incorporated more into the education system.

Cheers!

Paige
